unlikely pairing
odd juxtaposition
in the winter i see
buttercup-yellow butterfly floating
among the grayness here
where are the colors of flowers to draw you
there is no sustenance in the landscape
cept for the colorful cloth of people
flying along in various modes of ambulation
as seagulls circle this parking lot
how disorienting it is
in this sea of many seas
to feel a longing and no place to be
